Coffee Auctions Suite
Sensible’s main clientele are coffee sellers based all over the world. These clients could be farms or co-operatives. Each of these clients uses Sensible’s auction platform to sell their coffee to roasters and traders worldwide.
My job in this sector of the business was to work with the Creative Lead to brand and style the sites of over 20 clients to match their existing branding or to create a narrative for their project and create the designs for the sites accordingly.
This culminated in writing my own css toolbox to include in each site to match the styles and layouts that would appear consistently. Each site had unique style and branding but there are recurring layout elements and css styles that can be adapted for each site.
These sites are good examples of my work in this sector of the business:
In addition to the styling of each site, I created UX improvements too. For example; the auction countdown timer. I wrote a custom script that hooks into the Java application which runs the auction. This then displays the time until an auction in an easy to read way allowing clients to get ready to bid as soon as the auction opens once the timer reaches zero!
My Responsibilities:
- Write custom CSS and HTML layouts for each website on top of a basic skeleton.
- Working with creative lead to create interesting and clear layouts and styling for each site.
- Content Upload.
- Site management and maintenance after completion. (updating content to reflect auction outcomes etc)
- UX development and updates such as auction countdown timer.
Technologies Used:
- HTML, JS/jQuery, CSS
- SlickJS
- Bootstrap
- Java/jsp
- SCSS
- Figma
